A huge round of applause for Fred Schaffner, our well-deserved nominee for Magician of the Month! Fred handles everything on his plate with a remarkable blend of hard work, professionalism, politeness, and respect, making him a standout leader in Service.

Not only has Fred been a fantastic boss, making the entry into Heritage comfortable and enjoyable for many, but he’s also shown exceptional skills during deli case installations and the turnover at store 32. His dedication to each task is evident in the outstanding results.

While Fred typically has a lot on his plate, he faced an abundance of additional challenges in January. From the rapid demolition and rebuilding of store #32 to dealing with a surprise snowstorm and taking on plowing duties for six additional stores, Fred faced each challenge with his signature grace and efficiency. The unexpected leaks at the office and the additional responsibilities due to a colleague’s personal tragedy further highlight Fred’s unwavering commitment.

What’s truly remarkable is Fred’s ability to handle every challenge without a hint of complaint. He goes above and beyond for the team and the stores daily, and the word “No” simply isn’t in his vocabulary. Fred sees the whole picture, understanding the true MAGIC in every task he undertakes.

Beyond his exceptional work, Fred brings humor and a little eye candy to the mix, making each day a little brighter for all of us.

Dominic’s journey with us started as a hardworking team member at store #37 in Vineland. Through his dedication and efforts, he quickly climbed the ranks, moving from a team member to a GSM, and eventually, an Assistant Manager.

Since his transition to store #34 in Elmer, Dominic has truly blossomed into a leader. Stepping up to a more prominent role, he ran the store seamlessly in his manager’s absence, showcasing exceptional leadership skills. His hardworking nature and dedication to every store he works in are truly commendable.

Thrilled to announce Shermont Fox as our Magician for the first month of 2024! 🌟 Shermont works part-time in the milk room, and we’re excited to see him explore new areas like the freezer and supplies.

We’re excited to nominate Stephanie Jennings as our Magician of the Month! 🌟 Steph is the unsung hero behind the scenes, troubleshooter extraordinaire, and an invaluable asset to our team. Her dedication shines through in every task she undertakes.

Steph’s magic extends beyond the Technology Department. She genuinely cares about Heritage’s as a whole. Always quick to pick up the phone, her willingness to investigate any problem, no matter how complex, is truly appreciated by all the managers.

She thinks ahead, always considering the future of the company and how she can contribute. Her versatility is evident in her ability to assist Accounting with gift card reconciliations, handle the challenging holiday season cigarette inventory, and conduct inventories in stores.

Steph’s proactive approach also directly benefits the Operations Department. From addressing cash issues to uncovering thefts, she’s a step ahead, sometimes even anticipating reports before they’re requested. It’s no wonder we say, “Stephanie bleeds Green!”

For the 2023 holiday season, Heritage’s hosted collection boxes for Acenda’s Spirit of the Holiday Toy Drive, an annual initiative to help bring holiday cheer to thousands of children in New Jersey. Our company would like to send a huge thank you to all of our guests and staff who donated items and helped make this toy drive a success.

On December 7, 2023, Skeeter delivered the keynote at the 32nd Annual Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast, hosted by the Gloucester County Prayer Committee. This event, held every first Thursday in December, brings together community, business, and government leaders in Gloucester County to uplift our local and global community in prayer and kick off the holiday season with vigor. What an honor for Skeeter to share his powerful testimony with the event’s 300 attendees.
