Round-Up Fundraiser for St. John of God Community Services

Heritage’s is proud to partner with St John of God Community Services to host a Round Up fundraiser in its stores. Now through May 26, when you visit any Heritage’s location and round up your total purchase to the nearest dollar, proceeds will go towards St. John of God Community Services’ mission of improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Nick Padgett – April & May 2024 Assistant Manager of the Month

Nick Padgett

Since joining our district last spring, Nick Padgett has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to policy and procedure, ensuring that everything is executed flawlessly.

Nick’s role as assistant manager at Store #31, under Jessica’s guidance, has been instrumental in achieving our store objectives. Together, they’ve focused on team development, accountability for company policies and procedures, and exceptional guest service – and the results speak for themselves!

Almost a year later, Store #31 is thriving, with its first inventory meeting company goals. Nick’s impact extends beyond his store, as he’s assisted in re-training existing employees and mentoring new team members across the district.

Nick’s teamwork, willingness to help, and commitment to excellence are truly commendable. Thank you, Nick, for your hard work and dedication. We are grateful for all that you do!

DJ Warwick – April 2024 – Magician of the Month

We are thrilled to nominate DJ Warwick for Magician of the Month! DJ’s infectious laugh, positive attitude, thoughtful heart, cheerful humor, and joyful spirit make him a standout team member.

DJ is always looking for ways to help and serve others. He approaches everything with his whole heart and joyful enthusiasm, which has translated beautifully into his role as a supervisor.

DJ not only thinks of others, but he also takes action, going above and beyond to celebrate birthdays, organize outings for managers, and bring positivity to the workplace. His caring nature and pleasant demeanor make him a joy to work with.

Since stepping into his role as supervisor, DJ has been instrumental in getting things done efficiently. He brings his enthusiasm to the office, making his presence known in the best way possible.

DJ’s expertise with the Fresh Base scale at Store #3 has been invaluable, and he’s generously shared his knowledge with other managers and supervisors. He’s also gone the extra mile by moving scales to different districts to ensure all stores have what they need and volunteering to rehab office plants at home.

Heritage’s Sponsors 3rd Annual “Pickleball Against Poverty” Tournament

On March 26, Heritage’s proudly sponsored the 3rd Annual “Pickleball Against Poverty” Tournament, hosted by South Jersey Dream Center (SJDC) at Total Turf in Pitman, NJ. The event united players and supporters for a day of competition in support of the Dream Center’s mission to combat poverty and empower individuals, raising just under $30,000 toward their cause.

South Jersey Dream Center offers hope and opportunities for those in need, aiming to break the cycle of poverty and help individuals discover their potential. Through their programs and initiatives, SJDC empowers individuals to discover their purpose and pursue their dreams.

Del Doran – March 2024 – Wholesale Magician of the Month

Del Doran

Our Magician for March is none other than Del Doran! Del wears many hats – he’s the go-to person for the Cigarette room, our backup receiver, and the reliable hand behind deliveries to our outside accounts. A true Jack of all trades!

Del’s magic doesn’t stop there. He’s evolved into a fantastic trainer for new team members, always ready to share his knowledge and lend a helping hand. Even in his spare time, you’ll catch him tidying up the lunchroom or swiftly handling spills in the warehouse.

Dependable and always ready to contribute, Del is a true blessing to our team. Thank you, Del, for your versatility and unwavering commitment! Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 

Lisa Barrow – March 2024 – Magician of the Month

Lisa Barrow

We’d like to give a huge shoutout to Lisa Barrow for going above and beyond in handling PTO and payroll challenges these past few months! The journey started in the first week of January with a flurry of calls about W2s. Whether it was addressing address changes, email mishaps, or the occasional mix-up, Lisa ensured that everyone received their W2s promptly.

In the midst of this, Lisa took on the task of getting employees to add beneficiaries to their 401K. While seemingly straightforward, this process turned out to be quite an adventure, involving tracking down employees and assisting them in navigating the intricacies of their accounts.

Adding to her plate, Lisa took charge during the Health Insurance & Benefits enrollment period. She patiently guided employees through the portal, helping them fill out forms to meet the March 1st deadline.

Lisa’s dedication is undeniable. She genuinely cares about every Heritage’s employee, going the extra mile to accommodate their needs, even if it means shouldering additional work. Thank you, Lisa, for your outstanding commitment to our team! 

The Arc Gloucester Names Store #8 Employer of the Year

With immense joy and pride, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Store #8 (located in Woodbury Heights) for being named Employer of the Year at the Annual Arc Awards last month.

Store #8’s commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, led by Kristi McHenry, has not gone unnoticed by The Arc Gloucester, an organization focused on empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to achieve their highest potential through advocacy, education, and quality services.

 On February 23, Kristi attended the Arc Award ceremony with Kevin Haines (one of our store #8 team members) and captured their special moment with the Arc Gloucester Board Members. Their smiles radiate the genuine joy and appreciation shared during this well-deserved recognition.

Kristi, your dedication to fostering an atmosphere of equality and your exceptional efforts in supporting employees like Kevin have set a commendable standard for our business and others in our community. It’s heartening to see the positive impact you’re making on the lives of those with disabilities, demonstrating that businesses can indeed be a force for positive change and inclusivity.
