On September 15, Heritage’s served as a proud sponsor of The Arc Gloucester’s annual golf tournament, held at Riverwinds in West Deptford, NJ. The event honored revered South Jersey news columnist and longtime The Arc Gloucester supporter Bob Shryock. All proceeds benefited the organization, which empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to achieve their highest potential through advocacy, education and quality services. Andrea Vernacchio is an Assistant Manager and Trainer. She Trains all our new hires in MAGIC Class and then certifies our GSM at store level. She has been employed with us for seven years.
Congrats, Andrea! We appreciate what you bring to the team.
Melody Hollander has been a manager at Heritage’s for five years. She currently manages the store on Blue Bell Road in Williamstown.
Congrats, Melody! Thanks for all that you do!
Jennifer Lauk is one of the hardest working women we know. Whether helping fix an invoice or covering an inventory, Jenn is always going above and beyond to help others; always there to extend a hand. She takes exceptional care of Skeeter Sr and all his animals. Jenn is a pleasure to work with. She has such a bright positive attitude that is missed when she is not here for the day.
Congrats, Jenn! We’re so grateful to have you on the Heritage’s team. Thank you so much for all you do!
Del Doran is doing an excellent job of running the cigarette room. He is the backup receiver and delivers to our outside accounts. Del is always willing to lead a hand wherever and whenever needed. Del is a true asset to our team.
Being “friendly” is one of the four tenets of Heritage’s values and it involves making service to our employees, guests and community our most important priority. In practice, being friendly means supporting our neighbors who are facing food insecurity. Heritage’s recently partnered with Fiorenza’s Food for Friends (F4), an organization that has been working with local businesses interested in giving back to their local community by donating excess food since 2011. Select Heritage’s stores are now giving their leftover food to F4 to distribute to local community organizations. Pictured here, Store Manager Charlet Smith provides leftover rolls to volunteers from the Woodland Community Development Center in Camden, NJ. On July 16, Heritage’s Runnemede store proudly hosted Thy Kingdom Crumb’s food truck and free meal distribution event that served hot chicken cutlet sandwiches, sides and drinks to those in need in the local community. Jim is an essential part of our wholesale team. He takes care of all the refrigeration, both retail and foodservice. Jim is always helpful and a hard worker. He has even helped with training some of the new guys with picking and product knowledge.
We are thankful Jim is part of our team.
Sandy is a great representation of what our company is all about. She is such a kind person, great to work with, positive, and all around just a fun time to be around. Always willing to pitch in where there’s a need, Sandy helps keep us on track with new hires and their training progress.
In the month of June, Sandy held three job fairs at three different stores in a one-week period, added and taught two Magic Classes as well as five one-on-one Magic classes for new employees, and prepared Lunch for the Manager’s Meeting. She also had to go thru a merger with our drug testing facility that just could not get our chain of custody forms correct as well as the delivery of the finished results. Her persistence finally got the forms completed correctly and delivered out to the stores on time.
Last week she even fixed the shredder that was jammed up with paper and we didn’t need the Service Department. She is a Mrs. Fixit for the HR dept. Sandy’s personality is very outgoing, and she enjoys having fun. She is also very giving. She has volunteered to cook at the Ronald McDonald House for years and continues to do so every couple of months as well as helping the Vets.
Sandy, thank you so much for all you do for Heritage’s! Your contributions to this team are truly invaluable.
