Heritage’s Celebrates 40 Magical Years with Gretchen
Last month, Heritage’s had the privilege of celebrating an incredible milestone—40 years with Gretchen, a cherished member of our team whose dedication and passion have left an indelible mark on our company and community.
Gretchen began her journey with Heritage’s in 1984 as a Team Member at our Paulsboro store, back when milk was $1.89, personal checks were a common form of payment, and dress uniforms were the standard. Balancing her love for fitness with her new role, Gretchen recalls, “I always wore leg warmers and a headband because I also taught aerobics!”
Over the years, Gretchen has collected countless fond memories, including a humorous moment when she forgot about a pre-scheduled vacation and showed up to work as usual, much to her colleagues’ amusement.
When asked about what keeps her going after all these years, Gretchen’s answer is simple and heartfelt:
“My People.” She shared, “They are my inspiration, they are my reason—their success is my success. I’ve worked with a great team for these 40+ years—it’s home!”
As for her favorite Heritage’s items? Gretchen playfully admits she’s never been a fan of Slush Puppies or the Godfather sub, but she’s always had a soft spot for a classic Turkey and Provolone Sub. And her secret treat? Using Heritage’s Chocolate Milk to whip up a “mean Frosty” at home!
