Heritage’s Named a 2025 Family-Owned Business Honoree

Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2025 Family-Owned Business Award

Heritage’s Dairy Stores is proud to announce that it has been recognized as one of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2025 Family-Owned Business Award honorees. This award celebrates a select group of companies across the Greater Philadelphia region whose success, longevity, and community impact exemplify the strength and values of family-owned businesses.

Family-owned businesses are the backbone of the American economy, accounting for 54% of the nation’s gross domestic product and nearly 60% of employment, according to Family Enterprise USA. The Philadelphia Business Journal’s annual recognition highlights organizations that have not only weathered economic challenges and generational transitions but have also remained steadfast in their mission to serve their communities.

Heritage’s joins this year’s group of twelve companies, selected by the Business Journal’s editorial board from public and newsroom nominations. Eligible companies must be at least 51% family-owned, have operated for a minimum of 15 years, and have passed through multiple generations. Heritage’s, founded more than 90 years ago, has grown into a South Jersey staple with dozens of stores across the region.

“I’m humbled to carry on the legacy of the men who came before me and both give thanks and celebrate all the great people who’ve made Heritage’s the company it is today,” said Skeeter Heritage Jr., CEO of Heritage’s. “To me, it’s recognition of their hard work, dedication, and belief in serving others.”

The 2025 Family-Owned Business Awards honorees were celebrated at a special event on September 10 and given a feature profile in a special edition of the Business Journal on September 12.
