Gretchen Matlock Retires After 41 Years of Dedication to Heritage’s

Gretchen Matlock

It’s impossible to fully capture the impact of a 41-year career, but today, we proudly celebrate an extraordinary milestone. Gretchen Matlock, a longtime District Supervisor at Heritage’s, is retiring after more than four decades of service, leadership, and commitment to our team and community.

Gretchen’s journey with Heritage’s began in 1984 as a Team Member at our Paulsboro store. Over the years, she grew alongside the company, building a career defined by hard work, leadership, and a deep connection to the people around her. Reflecting on her early days, Gretchen shared:

“When I started with Heritage’s, milk was $1.89, and stores took personal checks! We had a dress uniform. I always wore leg warmers and a headband because I also taught aerobics! The reason I come to work: my people. They are my inspiration. Their success is my success. I have worked with a great team for these 40+ years. It’s home.”

As a District Supervisor, Gretchen made a lasting impact on countless team members. She is known for her people-first approach, always leading with encouragement, support, and a genuine investment in the success of others.

Gretchen’s legacy is one of mentorship, positivity, and heart. The relationships she built and the culture she helped foster will continue to shape Heritage’s for years to come.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Gretchen Matlock has given to our team and our community. Please join us in celebrating her remarkable career and wishing her all the best in this next chapter.
